The 1:1:1:1 Ratio Cake Recipe
A basic cake is composed of four ingredients: flour, sugar, butter, & eggs. By using equal amounts (in weight) of each of these ingredients, you’ll be able to make a perfect cake or cupcakes.
Fun Fact: Pound Cake got its name from combining 1 pound of each ingredient; flour, sugar, butter & eggs.
The key to these instructions is weight; you must use equal weight for each item.
Don’t have a food scale? You can usually find one in your local grocery or kitchen supply store.

Equal weight of flour, sugar, butter & eggs.
It doesn’t get more simple than that!
Tip: Don’t be afraid to add flavors, fruit (i.e. raspberry, blueberry), citrus zest, chocolate chips or even sprinkles!
